Reasons to Quit Smoking

Everybody has the right to live according to their wishes. So why not lead a life that is worth living? Below are a few important points to consider about why quitting smoking is beneficial:

  • Quit smoking and live longer: In the year 2007, the American Heart Association stated that people who smoke live on average 14 years less than nonsmokers. There are various reasons for this difference, including cancer, heart ailments and tuberculosis.
  • Good health: Smokers are not as healthy or fit as nonsmokers. They cannot participate in many sports and lack stamina, due to a decrease in lung function. Their bones are brittle and they are vulnerable to asthma, emphysema and other respiratory disorders.
  • Damage to fetus: Pregnant mothers have to stop smoking, because smoking causes severe damage to fetuses. It results in premature births, low weight of the baby and stillbirths.
  • Stop smoking, save money: Average smokers smoke about two packs each day. That means they spend nearly $15,000 in five years on the habit.
  • Premature aging: Premature aging is more common among smokers, as they develop wrinkles and dry patchy skin and experience hair loss.
  • Public humiliation: Smokers smell of smoke and cough frequently, which has become highly unacceptable recently.
  • Improve your Love Life:  It is becoming more and more rare for non-smokers to be tolerant of smoking in a relationship.  Kick the Butt today and you’ll greatly expand the pool of your potential mates.
